Glissando,
Bosse & Baum Gallery Oct 2014
Glissando explored our ambition for freedom by weaving together narratives illustrating human's historical desire to fly. The sculptural works drew on acts of faith, technological advances and mythology through four very different characters; Elimer an 11th century monk who made himself wings; Laika, the first animal in space in the 1950s; Christina the Astonishing, a 13th century woman with apparent supernatural powers; and Wonder Woman whose backstory links her with Greco-Roman mythology. A performance activated the installation with choreography that was based on youtube super hero impersonations.
