​Crystalis transformed an old apple cellar into an immersive grotto of sculpture. Taking as its starting point local and global ancient mythology around the apple, these narratives were complicated by fossil-esque forms alluding to evolutionary remnants or future beings. It takes its title and shares narrative and thematic elements with a 90s computer game which deals with notions of knowledge, belief systems, transformation and human’s impact on the environment. This reimagining of an ancient grotto, followed on from earlier shrine, tarot, labyrinth and grotto works exploring spaces for reflection, initiation and magic.
